Product description
"The thick strands of both Arbor Lodge and Quarry are ideal for oversized cables and this quality was the starting inspiration point for this vest. Invested with a heavy dose of classic fisherman sweater vibes, these cables are plumped up to an almost cartoonish degree, and lend a light-hearted air to an easy-going layering piece." — designer, Lis Smith

Pattern specs
CONSTRUCTION
- The Front and Back are worked flat, separately, from the bottom up in the same manner. Stitches are cast on for Front and the ribbed hem is worked using smaller needle. After completion of hem, larger needle is used to begin working the body of the vest. Three body lengths are available to customize fit.
- The armhole is shaped with a combination of bound-off stitches and decreases. While working this section, the neckline shaping will begin with placing live stitches on hold for center front neck, then shaping the neckline curve with decreases. After dividing for the neck, the remainder of the upper body will be worked from two separate balls of yarn. Shoulders are then shaped using a Sloped Bind Off as you finish the upper body.
- Back piece is worked the same way, mirroring armhole shaping and shoulder slopes. As for Front, the Back neckline also has live stitches placed on hold while the remainder of back neck shaping occurs, using two separate balls of yarn.
- After completion of the Front and Back pieces, the garment is seamed together at the shoulders first. To finish garment construction, the sides of the garment are seamed. With smaller circular needle, stitches are picked up and live stitches are returned to needles from the neck opening and work is joined into the round. The neckband is worked in a variegated 2x2 ribbing and Cable Chart A pattern ribbing until the target length of the finished neckband is achieved, and then bound off. Armhole band stitches for both left and right armhole are picked up directly from the armhole edge and worked in a 2x2 rib pattern before binding off.
