CONSTRUCTION

• The Front and Back are worked flat, separately, from the bottom up in the same manner. As lower body is worked, waist increases are incorporated to gently shape the garment’s silhouette. The armhole is shaped with a combination of bound-off stitches, decreases, and increases depending on the size to achieve a consistent fit for each size. Stitches are bound off for the center neck and the remainder of the upper body will be worked from two separate balls of yarn per side. The shoulders are also shaped with a sloped bind off as you finish the upper body.
• After completion of the Front and Back, the pieces are seamed together at the shoulders. Sleeve stitches are picked up directly from the armhole edge (indicated by the placed markers on both Front and Back). Sleeves are worked flat from the top down and shaped using evenly-spaced decreases along either edge of the fabric between upper arm and cuff.
• The garment is seamed along the sides and sleeves. A doubled neckband is picked up and worked circularly, then tacked down to the WS of the garment.

  • Note: Each stripe of color is 2 rows. Counting stripes may be easier than counting distinct rows with this stitch pattern.
• 22 stitches per 4”/10 cm in Garter Rib Pattern on main needle, after blocking
  • Note: Any row gauge for Garter Rib Pattern will work, as long as the stitch gauge is met; two different needle sizes may be required to achieve both gauges.
