Celebrating Our Journey: Brooklyn Tweed’s Next Chapter

Dear Friends,
We're reaching out today with important news—and hearts filled with gratitude.
Beginning in June 2025, Brooklyn Tweed will return to its roots as a pattern-only design company, transitioning out of yarn manufacturing. This decision was not easy, nor driven by any lack of viability: BT yarns remain beloved and vibrant, thanks to your incredible support.
Instead, we're following our personal creative paths, seeking space to explore new ideas while honoring the spirit of what we've built together over the past 20 years.
This change marks not an ending, but the next step in our ongoing journey. We're eager to learn, grow, and explore new creative avenues. Soon, we'll launch an updated website showcasing our extensive library of over 800 original patterns—an inspiring platform for both past and future projects. Our celebrated designs will continue to be available, and we look forward to sharing even more creative work with you in the years to come.
We're not going anywhere—this is simply the start of a new chapter.
Producing yarn in the U.S. has been profoundly rewarding and challenging. We've been incredibly fortunate to pursue our passion for quality and craftsmanship, thanks entirely to your support. Together, we've cultivated a community centered around beautiful American wool, thoughtful design, and the timeless art of knitting. Each skein and pattern we’ve created reflects our dedication to care, creativity, and purpose.
The final months of Brooklyn Tweed yarn production will be a celebration, honoring the yarns that have accompanied your creative journey. Starting today, all remaining skeins of Brooklyn Tweed yarn are available in our online store—if there's something you've had your eye on, now's the moment. At the end of this month, we'll launch a Farewell Sale featuring all remaining skeins from our final production runs, continuing through June or while our supply lasts. This gives you ample time to complete your projects, stock your collections, and cherish these final yards.
Our commitment to providing meticulously crafted, inspiring patterns remains stronger than ever. Brooklyn Tweed will continue to offer the exceptional quality and innovative design you’ve come to expect. Raising the standard for knitters everywhere has always been—and will remain—central to our mission.
We understand this news may feel bittersweet. Like all beautiful experiences, this chapter is fleeting, but the spirit of BT endures.
On behalf of our entire team, thank you for your trust, creativity, and unwavering support. You, our cherished knitting community, are truly the heart and soul of Brooklyn Tweed.
Join us in celebrating these remarkable yarns—collect, create, and treasure this moment. We look forward to continuing our shared journey with you. Keep in touch, and we’ll do the same!
With deepest gratitude,

I am sorry you are leaving the yarn business. I loved your yarn. I imagine it is a very complicated process. Sorry to see you go.

Dear Jared and Luigi
Super sad news that BT will not be making yarns any more. Your patterns and yarns together are what took my knitting to the next level. I have sampled most of them but my absolute favourite is Loft. I just ordered a stash of what was left over for good old times sake. Since I moved to Italy a few years ago it’s been more difficult to get a hold of your yarns. My LYS in Milan stocks it but the minute it comes in stock it flies out the door!! Anyway, I’m knitting the reversi shawl at moment (not with a BT yarn) and coming up soon is Mountain with arbor in the exact colours of the pattern. Thank you for your hard work and your creativity which I’m sure will take you to fabulous new places. Looking forward to what comes next!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽 Grazie grazie 😘

Thank you for years of inspiration that will never stop. Truely, you lift knitting, crocheting, and yarn to new heights with artistry that’s been missing until you hit the scene. I’m happy I was able to meet both of you in St. Paul years ago.
Best Wishes!

Bittersweet news indeed. Some of my best knits have been
ones that used your patterns with your yarns. I hope this will an opportunity to celebrate other local suppliers so that we can continue to support the farmers and mills who have been such an important part of Brooklyn Tweed!
