Beginning in June 2025, Brooklyn Tweed will return to its roots as a pattern-only design company, transitioning out of yarn manufacturing. This decision was not easy, nor driven by any lack of viability: BT yarns remain beloved and vibrant, thanks to your incredible support.
Instead, we're following our personal creative paths, seeking space to explore new ideas while honoring the spirit of what we've built together over the past 20 years.
This change marks not an ending, but the next step in our ongoing journey. We're eager to learn, grow, and explore new creative avenues. Soon, we'll launch an updated website showcasing our extensive library of over 800 original patterns—an inspiring platform for both past and future projects. Our celebrated designs will continue to be available, and we look forward to sharing even more creative work with you in the years to come.
We're not going anywhere—this is simply the start of a new chapter.
Producing yarn in the U.S. has been profoundly rewarding and challenging. We've been incredibly fortunate to pursue our passion for quality and craftsmanship, thanks entirely to your support. Sad for us but looking forward to your new adventures!
What sad news… I have loved BT from before you even made yarn. I still use the Tweed Baby Blanket pattern I made like the original sample you showed in Knit Picks City tweed. And made others in your yarn when you started producing your own brand. It would help us all understand if you would share why you’ve made this decision, what the US producers in the production chain will do and if anyone is taking over.

I have followed you since “Blog” days, Jared, and have used all of your yarns at one time or another and many patterns. I love both and will miss your yarn, but I am happy for you both and wish you good fortune in your next path.
Aw I’m so sorry to hear this. I too have followed since just the blog days, when I lived abroad and pined for knitterly activities back home. I’ve made so many garments from BT fibers…everything from hats for my babies to sweaters for my mother before she passed away. I’ll always treasure your yarns!
