  CONSTRUCTION

  • Vieira's center body is worked first in two pieces from the center out, beginning with a Provisional Crochet Cast-On at the center back. The front sections of the center body are shaped on the bias. The upper back and fronts are picked up separately from the center body and worked to the shoulders, which are shaped using Short Rows: German Method, then joined using Joinery Bind Off. The lower body is picked up from the center body and worked down to the hem, with optional placement of waste yarn for pocket openings.
  • The sleeves are picked up from the armholes and worked circularly to the cuff, with short-row shaping to shape the cap. Stitches for the collar and front bands are picked up and worked flat on a circular needle, with short-row shaping to shape the collar.
  • The optional pockets are knit separately circularly, then joined to the fronts using Kitchener Stitch.
