Surprisingly simple jogless stripes turn this basic into an elevated last-minute gift, or a quick solution to cold temperatures for your own wardrobe.

Pattern Updates
31 March 2021: Version 4.0
The pattern has been updated to use BT yarn (Shelter) with yardage listings updated accordingly. With new samples and imagery, Turn a Square has been given a fresh look in our BT by Brooklyn Tweed format. The original tubular cast on has been removed, resetting the skill level to “1”. Note that the translations are of the original pattern, not of the v4.0 update.
30 December 2013: Version 3.4
On the previous update, the schematic reverted to an earlier version (showing the body of the hat measurement 5″ instead of 4″) when exported. The correct measurement is 4″ (as in Version 3.2).
18 December 2013: Version 3.3
Added a missing asterisk on page 4: “Row 1 (Increase Row; RS): *Knit 1, . . .”
11 January 2013: Version 3.2
On the schematic (Page 3), the body of the hat measurement has been corrected to 4″ high through the striping sequence.
10 January 2013: Version 3.1
Page 5, under Rearrange Stitches for 2×2 Ribbing, fixed a typo. It now reads “…repeat from * until 1 stitch remains, slip final stitch to R needle…”
Also Page 5, a missing needle change was added to read “You have now completed your Tubular Cast On and will begin working your regular 2×2 rib with needle B.”
