PLICATA

by Katherine Salesin

“I designed this pattern as an homage to the beautiful cedar trees here in my home in the Pacific Northwest. The cable motif echoes the fractal progression from trunk to twig: the central braid could be gnarled bark twisting and climbing upward, or the spine from which soft needles spring; the sloping curves could be heavy branches or dainty sprigs. I wanted to create a pattern that was fresh, modern, and elegant.”
