A gentle A-line and a split ribbed hem create a relaxed fit, but set-in sleeves and the intriguing neckline lend polish to take you from the garden to the market to the office. Arvid is worked from the bottom up in the round after the hem, but the sleeves are knit flat and sewn in. The collar is worked together with the sweater front, then extended and seamed along the back neck.

    CONSTRUCTION

    • The ribbings for the front and back are worked separately, then joined and the body is worked in the round to the underarms. The fronts and back are worked separately to the shoulders. The cables on the front are continued, joined at the back neck, and sewn to the back neck as a collar. The sleeves are worked flat.

    • 31¼ (34½, 38, 41¼, 44¾, 48, 51½)” circumference at chest

    GAUGE

    • 19 stitches & 28 rows/rounds = 4″ in stockinette stitch with Size A needle(s), after blocking
    • 18-stitch braid from Chart A or B measures 3″ wide with Size A needle(s), after blocking
    • 15-stitch braid from Chart C measures 2¼” wide with Size A needle(s), after blocking
    • 12-stitch braid from Chart D measures 1¾” wide with Size A needle(s), after blocking


    NEEDLES
