Pattern Specs
CONSTRUCTION
- Stole is worked from the center out using a provisional cast on; one half is worked first, then the stitches are picked up from the provisional cast on to work the second half.
GAUGE
- Working Gauge: 24½ stitches & 51 rows = 4″ in garter stitch with Gauge Needle, before blocking
- Finished Gauge: 18 stitches & 24 rows = 4″ in garter stitch with Gauge Needle, after lace-blocking
NEEDLES
Gauge Needle:
- One pair of straight needles (or circulars, if preferred) in size needed to obtain gauge listed
- Suggested Size: 4½ mm (US 7)
FINISHED DIMENSIONS
- 15″ wide, 84″ long; measurements taken from relaxed fabric after blocking.
Note that this project features an open-gauge fabric.

Three changes on the Components page have been made:
1) Under Materials, yardage was corrected to “Approximately 798 yards of fingering weight wool yarn” and “3 skeins of Brooklyn Tweed Loft.”
2) Under Gauge, working gauge corrected to “23 stitches & 34 rows = 4″ in garter stitch with Gauge Needle, before blocking.”
3) Under Needles, gauge needle corrected to “Suggested Size: 4½ mm (US 7).”

The sentence that reads “Switch to working yarn as you work the next row.” should be substituted with the following sentence: “Switch to working yarn and knit one full row (you will be working directly into your provisional cast on stitches).“
