CONSTRUCTION

  • Sweater is worked flat in pieces and sewn together. Front bands are picked up and worked flat after assembly.


FINISHED DIMENSIONS

  • 34 (38, 42, 46, 50)” blocked circumference at chest
  • Sample shown is 38″ with +2″ ease on model

GAUGE

  • 18 sts & 26 rows = 4″ in flat stockinette stitch with Size A needle, after blocking
  • 18 sts & 26 rows = 4″ in Vine Lace pattern with Size B needle, after blocking


NEEDLES

Size A needle (for Main Fabric):

  • One 24″ circular needle in size needed to obtain stockinette stitch gauge listed
  • Suggested Size: 5 mm (US 8)


Size B needle (for Lace):

  • One 24″ circular needle one size larger than Gauge Needle
  • Suggested Size: 5.5 mm (US 9)


Size C needle (for Ribbing and Buttonband):

  • One 60″ circular needle three sizes smaller than Gauge Needle
  • Suggested Size: 3.75 mm (US 5)

Errata

2 April 2012: Version 1.1

On page 3, in the section for “Front”: second column, 4th paragraph down, under All Sizes Resume, the instructions originally said to “repeat the last 4 rows until piece measures 7” from cast-on edge.” This instruction has been changed to be knit to 7.5” from cast-on edge.
