Pattern Specs
CONSTRUCTION
- The stole begins with a Provisional Cast On (see Special Techniques) and is worked from end to end.
- After the body has been worked, stitches for the right edging only continue to be worked as the top border, which will consume all remaining live stitches using a traditional knitted- on edging technique.
- After the top border is complete, the bottom border will be worked in the same fashion as the top border, across stitches from the Provisional Cast On.
GAUGE
- 20 stitches & 32 rows = 4″ in stockinette stitch, relaxed after blocking
- 46 stitches & 48 rows from Chart B measures approximately 9″ wide x 6½” long, after blocking
- 22 stitches & 12 rows from Chart A or C measures 4″ wide at widest point (Row 12) x 1⅝” long, after blocking
NEEDLES
- One pair of straight needles or a 32″ circular needle* in size needed to obtain gauge listed
- Suggested Size: 3¾ mm (US 5)
*Knitter’s preferred style of needle may be used.
FINISHED DIMENSIONS
- 17″ wide; 73″ long; measurements taken from relaxed fabric after blocking
