    CONSTRUCTION

    • The pieces are worked flat and sewn together. The collar is sewn to the neck edge. The pockets and flaps are sewn on using backstitch.
    • Both Loft and Shelter are used in this garment. Shelter is used for the Brioche Stitch edgings, pockets, and collar; and Loft is used for the main stockinette stitch fabric. On the fronts, both Shelter and Loft are used at once, as the button and buttonhole bands are worked concurrently with the fronts.

    FINISHED DIMENSIONS

    • 32¾ (36¾, 40½, 44¼, 48, 52)” circumference at chest (buttoned)
    • Sample shown is size 36¾” with + 3¾” positive ease on model

Need help picking a size? See our resource page on Selecting a Sweater Size 101.

    GAUGE

    • 21 stitches & 32 rows = 4″ in stockinette stitch with Size A needle(s) and Loft, after blocking
    • 17 stitches & 48 rows = 4″ in Brioche Stitch with Size A needle(s) and Shelter, after blocking
    • Note that for Brioche Stitch, each elongated stitch in a column of knit stitches represents two rows; when you count these it will appear that 24 rows = 4″
