Pattern Specs
CONSTRUCTION
- All parts of the bear are worked in the round, except for the soles, which are worked flat.
GAUGE
- Bear: 22½ stitches & 33 rounds = 4″ in stockinette stitch with Size A needle(s) and Shelter (C1), after blocking
- Bear’s Sweater: 28 stitches & 35 rounds = 4″ in stockinette stitch with Size A needle(s) and Loft (C2 or C3), after blocking
- Note: Bear is knit tightly to prevent stuffing from showing
NEEDLES
Size A (for Bear and Main Sweater Fabric):
- One set of double-pointed needles (DPNs) in size needed to obtain gauges listed
- Suggested Size: 3½ mm (US 4)
Size B (for Sweater Ribbing):
- One set of DPNs, two sizes smaller than Size A
- Suggested Size: 3 mm (US 2½)
FINISHED DIMENSIONS
- Bear: 16″ height (standing); 15″ circumference at chest
- Bear’s Sweater: 14″ circumference at chest
