Lace Shrug
Skill Level: 3 of 5
Regular price $12.00

This simple lace shrug makes a great layer for spring and summer. Wear it casually with jeans and a top or dressed up over a sun dress with ballet flats. The garment’s minimalist shape makes for smooth, enjoyable knitting. After working the lace fabric for each half, a garter stitch hem is picked up and worked circularly around the front opening to finish. Garter stitch cuffs are used to finish the three-quarter sleeves.

CONSTRUCTION

  • The garment is worked in two identical pieces, which are worked from the center back towards the cuff. The first piece begins with a Provisional Cast On. For the second piece, the Provisional Cast On is undone and the live stitches are worked in the opposite direction with identical shaping.
  • Short sleeve seams are sewn on each side, leaving the center portion open, and a garter stitch edging is worked around the opening.
