Pattern Specs
CONSTRUCTION
- The shawl begins with a central square worked flat on the bias, with the first half of the square shaped with increases and the second half of the square shaped with decreases. Stitches for the outer frame are picked up around the outside of the central square and worked outwards. The lace edging is worked back and forth and joined to the live shawl stitches as it progresses.
GAUGE
- 21 stitches & 42 rows (21 ridges) = 4″ in garter stitch after blocking
NEEDLES
- One 32” circular needle in size needed to obtain gauge
- Suggested size: 3¾ mm (US 5)
FINISHED DIMENSIONS
- 42½” x 42½” [108 cm x 108 cm] square after blocking
- Measurements take from relaxed fabric after blocking.
