CONSTRUCTION

  • The yoke of this cardigan is worked circularly from the top down.
  • The body and sleeves are divided at the underarm and worked separately to the bottom. Sleeves are worked circularly.
  • The body may be worked straight from the underarm or include optional waist shaping.


FINISHED DIMENSIONS

  • 34¼ (39¼, 43, 47¼, 51) (55¼, 59, 63¼, 66¼)” [87 (99.5, 109, 120, 129.5) (140.5, 150, 160.5, 168.5) cm] circumference at chest
  • Sample shown is size 43”/109 cm with 4”/10 cm positive ease on model


GAUGE

  • 22 stitches & 32 rounds = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch with Size A needle, after blocking
  • 30 stitches & 34 rounds = 4”/10 cm in cable pattern with Size A needle, after blocking


NEEDLES

Size A (for Main Fabric)

  • One each 16”/40 cm, 24”/60 cm, and 32”/80 cm circular needles and one set of double-pointed needles (DPNs) in size needed to obtain gauge listed
  • Suggested Size: 3.75 mm (US 5)

Size B (for Neck Ribbing, Cuffs and Hem)

  • One 16”/40 cm and one 32”/80 cm circular needle, and one set of DPNs one size smaller than Size A
  • Suggested Size: 3.5 mm (US 4)

Size C (optional; for Tubular Cast On only)

  • One 16”/40 cm circular needle, 2-3 sizes smaller than Size A
  • Suggested size: 3 mm (US 2½)
