Since the launch of our very first yarn in 2010, Brooklyn Tweed’s mission has been to connect handknitters to their materials by creating timeless wool yarns and patterns that support domestic textile production.

2010-2025: 15 years of great American wool
Designing, sourcing, dyeing and spinning our yarns 100% within the USA has been both profoundly rewarding and challenging. We've been incredibly fortunate to pursue our passion for quality and craftsmanship, thanks to the support of an amazing community centered around beautiful American wool, thoughtful design, and the timeless art of knitting.

Our breed-specific yarns have helped to build American fiber supply chains and illuminated the unique stories of our hard-working manufacturing partners, inviting knitters along on the journey from sheep to skein.
Producing our yarns domestically has helped local economies prosper and supported sustainable livelihoods, forging lasting relationships from ranch to mill and creating closer connections between crafters and fiber producers.
