• Product description

  Wrap up in subtle colorwork reminiscent of fine needlepoint. This jacquard long cardigan in five shades of Loft features chevrons worked with purl stitches to interlock the colors and create intriguing texture. Tapestry is worked in the round with steeks, which are fully enclosed by the knit-on edging during finishing. The wrap-front torso is worked without shaping and is designed for lots of ease. Set-in half sleeves keep the proportions balanced. Belt your cardigan closed or let the fronts hang open as you prefer.

• Pattern specs

  CONSTRUCTION

  • The body is worked circularly to the shoulders, with a steek at the center front and at each armhole, then the shoulders are worked flat. The sleeves are worked circularly to the underarm, then the cap is worked flat. The steeks are worked over 9 stitches, alternating C1 and whichever contrasting color is used on that round, creating vertical stripes; for the rounds on which only C1 is used, the steeks are worked in C1 (not striped). The center front steek is cut open before picking up stitches for the edging, the edging is worked, then the steek is trimmed to 2 stitches wide before sewing the bound-off edge of the edging to the WS of the garment. The cut edge of the steek is thus enclosed. The armhole steeks are cut before sewing the shoulder seams.
  • The Sloped Bind Off is used when binding off stitches for the shoulders and sleeve caps.
