Celebrating Our Journey: Brooklyn Tweed’s Next Chapter

Celebrating Our Journey: Brooklyn Tweed’s Next Chapter

Dear Friends,

We're reaching out today with important news—and hearts filled with gratitude.

Beginning in June 2025, Brooklyn Tweed will return to its roots as a pattern-only design company, transitioning out of yarn manufacturing. This decision was not easy, nor driven by any lack of viability: BT yarns remain beloved and vibrant, thanks to your incredible support.

Instead, we're following our personal creative paths, seeking space to explore new ideas while honoring the spirit of what we've built together over the past 20 years.

This change marks not an ending, but the next step in our ongoing journey. We're eager to learn, grow, and explore new creative avenues. Soon, we'll launch an updated website showcasing our extensive library of over 800 original patterns—an inspiring platform for both past and future projects. Our celebrated designs will continue to be available, and we look forward to sharing even more creative work with you in the years to come.

We're not going anywhere—this is simply the start of a new chapter.

Producing yarn in the U.S. has been profoundly rewarding and challenging. We've been incredibly fortunate to pursue our passion for quality and craftsmanship, thanks entirely to your support. Together, we've cultivated a community centered around beautiful American wool, thoughtful design, and the timeless art of knitting. Each skein and pattern we’ve created reflects our dedication to care, creativity, and purpose.

The final months of Brooklyn Tweed yarn production will be a celebration, honoring the yarns that have accompanied your creative journey. Starting today, April 18, all remaining skeins of Brooklyn Tweed yarn are available in our online store—if there's something you've had your eye on, now's the moment. At the end of this month, we'll launch a Farewell Sale featuring all remaining skeins from our final production runs, continuing through June or while our supply lasts. This gives you ample time to complete your projects, stock your collections, and cherish these final yards.

Our commitment to providing meticulously crafted, inspiring patterns remains stronger than ever. Brooklyn Tweed will continue to offer the exceptional quality and innovative design you’ve come to expect. Raising the standard for knitters everywhere has always been—and will remain—central to our mission.

We understand this news may feel bittersweet. Like all beautiful experiences, this chapter is fleeting, but the spirit of BT endures.

On behalf of our entire team, thank you for your trust, creativity, and unwavering support. You, our cherished knitting community, are truly the heart and soul of Brooklyn Tweed.

Join us in celebrating these remarkable yarns—collect, create, and treasure this moment. We look forward to continuing our shared journey with you. Keep in touch, and we’ll do the same!

With deepest gratitude,

Complete respect for this decision. Good for you. I’ve followed your progress since you were in Bklyn and am so proud of what you’ve accomplished. I look forward to many more years of BT in any form. Cheers!

Brigid Kavanagh,

Brooklyn Tweed was the inspiration for me to knit many years ago. I have found your patterns to be the best in the business and your yarns wonderful. So much of the knitting world is about buying, BT has always been about making. Your tutorials and courteous help have supported me in my knitting journey, and your overall customer service such as consolidating shipping costs, has made it easy.

BT is an elegant company in both design and execution, but to me you are more than that. I appreciate your grace during COVID with your Apart Together initiatives. My most cherished knit is a Fete shawl knitted in the then new Tones for your LGBQT initiative, the intention and kindness somehow makes the piece more valuable to me.

Thank you to everyone at Brooklyn Tweed, you will be missed. I wish you all the best in your next chapter, I will be following.

Stephanie,

I, too, have followed you “from the beginning” and own and made many of your patterns and have used and loved your yarn…Best of luck on this new chapter. Thank you.

Pat,

Wow so sad to hear this but always a good thing to explore new chapters in business and life. Thank you for all the wonderful time and effort and support with your yarns. Wishing you and your business a great new chapter.

Drea ,

Very grateful for your meticulously designed and thoroughly written patterns, and I’m glad these will continue to be available. The challenge is to find the perfect yarn match, which BT yarns always were. I hope you will be able to provide expanded yarn recommendations from other sources. Please!
