Yes! Just like wool keeps you warm in the winter, it can also keep you cool in the summer by wicking moisture away from your body and keeping that hot sun off your skin. Smooth Merino wool or lighter weight yarns are a great choice for summertime knits and transition well from warm days to chillier nights.
As the summer heats up, lightweight yarns are an excellent choice for your vacation knits. Less bulky yarns like fingering and DK weight are thinner and easier to handle in hot hands. Additionally, smooth worsted spun yarns and soft fibers like Merino wool or Merino/Organic Cotton blends help you stay cool and dry as you stitch away.
Accessory knitting can be ideal for summertime because the projects are smaller, more portable and less likely to heavily drape in your lap while you knit. Lace knitting is a fun option if you have more focus as the open, drapey fabric allows for plenty of breathability and air movement through your knitting.
