To our community —
“If you live in this system of white supremacy, you are either fighting the system or you are complicit. There is no neutrality to be had towards systems of injustice, it is not something you can just opt out of.” – Ijeoma Oluo
We recognize that we have a responsibility to ourselves and to our fiber community to do better. As a company and as individuals, the Brooklyn Tweed team is committed to fostering a more equitable environment, both within and outside the fiber community.
In sharing our updated Equity and Inclusion action list, we recommit to our values and to the anti-racist efforts we have previously pledged. We hold ourselves accountable to you and to these commitments of ongoing action moving forward.
Anti-racism work is both internal and external, micro and macro. These necessary and welcome societal changes will take many forms. We invite you to join us in listening openly, learning deeply and engaging with discomfort as a precursor to positive change.
If you are seeking donation opportunities within the fiber community, we encourage you to consider the NFC Momentum Fund. Created by the Founder of Neighborhood Fiber Co. Karida Collins, this permanent fund will “support organizations working for justice, equality and empowerment.”
Every action counts.
