    Fiber Characteristics

The wool for Peerie comes from Merino sheep raised in Utah and Nevada. An ancient breed hailing back to 12th century Spain, the “King of Sheep'' is renowned for supremely soft and dense finewool fleeces with lively spring, velvety luster, and superb vibrance of color when dyed. Ideal for polished sweaters and accessories, Peerie’s worsted-spun construction brings smoothness and durability to this wonderfully wearable wool.

    Dye Process

Peerie is spun from undyed white wool, then skein dyed after spinning into a saturated palette of solid hues that let textured stitches and cables shine, create bold colorwork, and highlight the natural luster of the wool fibers.

  • Gauges

Peerie’s springy worsted-spun construction is suitable for a wonderful range of gauges:

    • 6¼ – 8 stitches to 1"
    • Suggested Needle: 2.75 - 3.5 mm (US 2-4)
    • Suggested Hook: 2.75 - 4 mm (US C-2 - G-6)
  • Care

Peerie is a handcrafted product. For best results, we recommend alternating skeins when joining in a new skein for even color distribution.

    Wet-Blocking

    1. Fill a sink or basin with cold water.
    2. Submerge the fabric in water, gently squeezing out any air bubbles so that the piece can remain under water without being held there.
    3. Soak work for 15 minutes, allowing fabric to become completely saturated.
    4. Remove excess moisture by rolling your fabric between clean, dry towels with light pressure.
    5. Lay fabric flat and shape to air dry.
