New Site Features: Pattern Search Filters
Posted by Bristol Ivy on
Today we'd like to share with you some of the great new ways you can explore our full patterns library on the new BrooklynTweed.com. With more than 300 patterns in our archive starting to browse can sometimes be daunting, so we've put together a few different ways to narrow your pattern browsing down to exactly what you want. First is the Filter Method: When you visit our Pattern Library page, you'll see five drop-down menus spanning the top of the page, each with a different filter type: . . . . Each filter can be used individually (or in combination with others) to tailor your search to any parameters you'd like. For example, let's say you're looking for something very simple to knit in Loft (or Loft doubled). Simply select Loft from the Yarn drop-down menu, and the skill level 1 from the Skill Level menu: In this instance, six pattern options are generated that match those criteria. Looking for patterns from a specific designer? You can use the "Designer" filter to either scroll through all the designers in our archive (sorted alphabetical by last name), or simply start typing directly into the search bar at the top of that menu: . . The second way to search for patterns on the site is by using our Site-Wide Search Bar: If you know exactly what pattern you're looking for this will be your quickest way to get what you need. You can use the the site-wide search bar, located at the top right of every page (right next to the cart button): . . Click on the magnifying glass to reveal a blue search bar that appears across the top of the screen. Begin typing your search terms within this bar and hit enter to display the results of your search. If you use this option to search a pattern name or designer name, it will bring up any product pages (as well as any Notebook or News posts about that pattern or designer) on the results screen. Here, a search for "Grace Anna Farrow"—one of our Wool People guest contributors—brings up both of Grace's patterns as well as a blog post featuring an interview with the designer. . . . We hope these search filters and functions will help you find exactly what you're looking to knit next! Stay tuned for a few more feature highlights from the new brooklyntweed.com!
