New Site Features: Electronic Gift Cards
Posted by Jared Flood on
With just a few more days left before Christmas, we thought it was a good time to give a quick run-down on our electronic gift cards! We've offered these gifts for about a year at Brooklyn Tweed, but we've made the process of purchasing and redeeming them even easier on our new website. Today we'll be doing a walk-through of the process so you can see how it works. Gift cards are available in amounts ranging from $25 to $200; when you arrive on the gift card page select the amount you would like for your gift card and click "Add to Cart". . . After adding the gift card to your cart, proceed to checkout where you will choose the delivery method you would like to use for the gift. On the checkout page, scroll down below the billing address information to fill out the Receiver Details. You have the option of having the coupon code/store credit sent directly to your Brooklyn Tweed account (option one), or sending it directly to the recipient via e-mail (this is the option that we've checked below): . . In the fields provided, enter your recipient's email address here, along with an optional note, and proceed through checkout. Once the gift card purchase has gone through, both you and your recipient will receive an email notifying them of their new store credit and giving them their unique coupon code. This credit will never expire and can be split over multiple orders. At this point, one of a few things will happen: if the recipient has an existing brooklyntweed.com account, the store credit will appear automatically in their account next time they log in and can be applied to any future orders. In this case, the recipient will see the credit as a "coupon" on their "My Account" page; the credit will appear like this: . . If the recipient does not currently have a brooklyntweed.com account, the coupon code that they receive via email will be the key to using their store credit (encourage your recipient to hang on to that email or check their spam filters if they didn't receive it in the first place). Once they're ready to make a purchase, they can enter the gift card code in the "coupon code" field as they are checking out checkout and the credit will be applied instantly to their order total. . . Placing this first order will also create a brooklyntweed.com account for them, so any remaining credit will remain in their account for future purchases. The credit will be automatically applied to any future orders once it's in their account, but they can choose not to use it at that time if they prefer. Here's what checkout looks like with store credit automatically added in: . . By clicking the "Remove" button, the coupon credit will be removed and the adjusted total will be updated. The removed coupon will reappear under the "Available Coupons" menu, as seen below: . . We hope this helps you navigate the Gift Card process! And as always, if you run into any trouble at all we're happy to help, just drop us a line!
