Seaman Hat and Scarf

MATERIALS

Approximately 340 (365, 380) yards of worsted weight weight wool yarn (for both items)
3 skeins of Brooklyn Tweed Shelter (100% American Targhee-Columbia wool; 140 yards/50 g)
Note: The scarf is readily knit with 2 skeins of Shelter, but the hat pushes the limit of a single skein. If making the hat only, you will require 2 skeins.

GAUGE

19 stitches & 28 rows = 4" in 2x2 Ribbing with Size A Needles, slightly stretched after blocking

NEEDLES

Size A (for Scarf and Hat):
One pair of straight needles, one 16" circular needle, and one set of 5 double pointed needles (DPN) in size needed to obtain gauge listed
Suggested Size: 4½ mm (US 7)

Size B (for Tubular Cast On):
One 16" circular needle, one size smaller than Size A needle(s)
Suggested Size: 4 mm (US 6)

FINISHED DIMENSIONS

Scarf: approximately 8¾" at widest part; 5½" at narrowest point; and 38" long
Hat: 21 (22, 22¾)" finished circumference; 7 (8¼, 8½)" total length
