Now Hiring: Graphic Designer; part-time

We are looking for a qualified graphic designer in the NY/NJ metro area. The candidate’s primary duties will include:

  • Layout and graphic design of our bi-monthly collection lookbooks
  • Layout and graphic design for miscellaneous web and print materials
  • Designing internal documents used by BT internal staff and design team
  • Special projects related to trade/industry events (posters, promotional cards, coupons, etc.)
  • Layout of digital and print knitting patterns
  • Miscellaneous other design projects as needed

Graphic designer will work closely with BT’s Creative Director to assist on a wide range of tasks in layout and design.

The position is currently a freelance, hourly part-time job with hours fluctuating based on current project load. The candidate may do some work from home, but will be required to be present in our Jersey City Office/Studio as needed (a short subway ride from Downtown Manhattan and easily accessible via public transit from all boroughs as well as the NJ metro area).

We are a growing business and it is likely that this will progress into a regular part-time job over the next 12 months. This is an ideal position for people who have experience in fashion/editorial fields, branding, and/or hand knitting industries.

Now Hiring: Fashion Illustrator; part-time

We are looking for a qualified Fashion and Technical Illustrator for garment/pattern related work. A general summary of the work required is listed below:

  • Technical garment and accessory flats for use in knitting patterns and lookbooks
  • Technical diagrams showing construction steps for hand knit garment fabrication
  • Technical diagrams for knitting techniques (samples will be provided as reference points)
  • Stylized fashion flats for catalogs and marketing materials
  • Stylized vector line art for promotional materials
  • Chart Illustration (vector) for knitting patterns

Illustrator will report to BT’s Creative Director to assist on a wide range of illustration tasks in as we produce our design collections.

The position is currently a freelance hourly part-time job with hours fluctuating based on current project load. Illustrator may do most work from home/studio, but will be required to be present in our Jersey City Office/Studio as needed if local (a short subway ride from Downtown Manhattan and easily accessible via public transit from all boroughs as well as the NJ metro area). Remote applicants based outside of the NYC area may be considered for the position.

We are looking for someone with a clean, architectural, minimalist aesthetic. Experience in fashion and/or technical illustration required.

Illustrators who are also knitters will have an advantage in this position, though being a knitter is not a requirement for consideration.
